With those piston speeds, the 5.5 is almost 25% more speed. There is also crank flex to take into account with the minimal journal overlap too.

Oh yeah, lots of 640 RD hemis out there with cast iron blocks. 650 fits alittle better in a 11.2 block.

They will with the proper valve and port sizing.schmitty wrote:7000 rpm with 4.5" arm to keep piston speed the same is under 6000 rpm for 5.5" arm. The big hemi heads aren't going to work down that low.

This guy had BES build him a 660" Hemi for a 2014 Cobra Jet Mustang. I don't know what the block is but you might try contacting him. Very nice motor and car.

Not sure how accurate them #'s are but pretty impressive for a 660 single carb..
