Picked up a glide today
Bought a 1:76 core trans today. Clean oil and normal grime. No cracks so far. Keep your fingers crossed for me

Well I screwed up, got my input shaft lengths confused, 12 5/8ths. Its a 1:82 ratio. ,Oh well, the case is good. Maybe find another planetary, or go aftermarket. For what I got in it, I didnt get hurt.

Ask the Coug, he might have a few 1.76 planets lying around.

Correct me if I'm wrong but you can't use the 1.82 because they are easily broken, correct?

Re: Picked up a glide today
Yeah Damon,
Factory 1:82's are junk. They are just a stamped sheetmetal housing. The 1:76 is steel housing.plus, the 1:76 ratio is more suitable anyway. A aftermarket 1:80 would work. But with my light combo 2500lb, 1:76 will work. A 1:80 would probably help the 60', but it may hurt on top?, dunno. Seen a 1:80, last night for sale $500 aftermarket.
Thanks guys.
