Re: Mike Stevens Build
Well guys, I just came in from the machine shop. My hat is off to Phillip because this is one mean TFS A-460 headed BB Ford. To the best of my knowledge, it is the strongest SINGLE carb A-460 headed engine in the country. Both the torque numbers and the horsepower numbers exceeded my expectations. The "Desk Top Dyno" that sets on top of my shoulders told me it would be 1111 Hp, IF,,,, it were a perfect engine. No problem, Phillip made 1123 Hp. My hat is off to him
I told Mikey earlier, that I wish his dad Chuck (my friend) could have been here with us today. He would have had a large and wonderful time So, this one's for you Chuck, RIP I know you were with us in spirit

Re: Mike Stevens Build
Well as you guys can imagine I am real happy with this build. I really enjoyed posting the pics and updating the status of this engine. I had an awesome time with Mike and Doug today which is always a bonus. Again I want to Thank Mike for giving us the oppurtunity to make this happen for him. Mike has been and awesome customer to deal with Through the purchase of his dragster and now his engine. We look forward to seeing him and his wife laying down some quick ets with their new package.

Re: Mike Stevens Build
Nice work, guys. Those are some great numbers! The engine looks great and the only way that the crew in the picture could look better, would be a Pabst Blue Ribbon in hand.
Keep up the fine work.. up there.

Re: Mike Stevens Build
Ok, Some guys have asked for build details. I will share some of the basics, BUT some of the info belongs to Phillip and I will not share that.
Block , Old SVO Motorsports A-91 aluminum block, 10.3 deck, cleve mains. The block was in Dad's shop when he passed.
Crank, Bryant billet, 4.625" stroke, cleve mains, center counter weights
Rods, Oliver, 6.700" length
Pistons Diamond, compression ratio 15 to 1
Cam Comp roller, specs per Phillip and Lem... Call them for info
Heads, TFS A-460, porting and valve job, etc..by Phillip Oakley.
I do not know the flow numbers, and I don't care what they are, as I know Phillip did his usual great job.
If you want flow numbers, Call Phillip......
Intake/ Carb.. TFS intake, worked by Phillip. QFT 1450 carb
This is the first engine,in ANY of our cars, not built in-house by Dad or myself. I could not have made a better choice.
To say I am a believer in Phillip Oakley is an understatment. Thanks again Phillip !!!
