Re: Pos unit
Blake, I'm pretty sure that they only used the 50's on the diesel trucks.

Re: Pos unit
After about 1985 or so D50 was your only choice for the F250 HD's
Before that apparently you could get them with a 44 although I've never seen one myself

Re: Pos unit
It's a 50 and seams I need to go to manual hubs to run the limited slip or locker if driving on ice.

Re: Pos unit
I guess for precaution reasons. I only ever had the manuals.IDT-572 wrote:It's a 50 and seams I need to go to manual hubs to run the limited slip or locker if driving on ice.
What is the purpose of the locker. Is this for off roading or mearly to have an extra wheel spinning in case?

Re: Pos unit
Just changing from 4.10's to 3.55's and thought I would put in a pos unit while the front end was apart, it has a limited slip in the rear.
May not fool with it, my brother had his F350 dual wheel stuck this morning with 15 6x6 round rolls of hay on his goose neck trailer, and I went down and pulled him out with the open diff, probably not worth the trouble.

Mine is a 97 and it has a 50 series. Got a set of 3.55's if you need some Blake.
