750 cfm holley dominator versus a regular 950cfm
What is the air flow difference if any between a 950 4150 series and a 750 dominator 4500 ?Holley 0-80186-2BK - Holley Ultra Dominator Carburetors

My bud Joe told me he had the 750 dominator on his big block chevy and said it was great but the air flow was to small. It would hinder his motor like there is no tomorrow. It was great for street driving but not racing. He wound up with a 1050 on it and it runs great. Are you putting it on you motor Mike? I would say the 950 will flow more.... proform makes a 1050 square bore carb

Change the banjos and boosters in the Dommie to 1050 ones....... You can get a substantial boost in CFM to 1050 !!!

if you are gonna have to go thru all that why not just buy a freakin 1050? sometimes it amazes me how some of you guys would spend $100 to save $5

What I was wanting to know is why the 750 bores and throttle blades look so much larger than my 950 throttle bores and blades ? seems to me the 750 dominator would flow more air than the 950 !

It's the Boosters and Banjos...... The 750 dominator is a 1050 with bigger skirts on the Banjo's and smaller holes on the boosters
Plus not all 950's are 950's depends alot on the manufacture and method of testing.

^^^THIS^^^
See how much a reputable carb shop would cost to change the boosters. Quickfuel quoted me a few hundred to update one of their old 750 Dominators to a 1050. For that much money I'd do it versus buying another Dominator. But this was already a Quickfuel deal with all the bells and whistles. Even a regular used Dominator was more expensive than getting this one converted by Quickfuel...
Wouldn't hurt to see how much it'll cost...
