Big block Ford replacement race.........June 22-23ird US-43 DRAG WAY

I have talked to Lem and Phillip and the Bash wont happen this year. They have a lot going on this year.

I have talked to them, and decided to put on a race at U.S. 43 if everyone is receptive, this will not be a Big Block Ford Bash, but a race for everyone to get together this year in absence of the Bash, until it's continuance next year.

I have contacted the race track and everything is a go if the response is good. I can get about any date I want, but there is a group of ford guys here that are having a race in June that would help the car count if we combined with them.

Or if we get enough cars we can just have it all to ourselves.

I also have gotten the go ahead to put on a dirt drag if we can get a group to bring in and set up a tree and timing lights. I can have the dirt track prepped by all of us here.

I have never put on a drag race and will need every ones help to pull this thing together. All the Tn. guys have gotten on board and are willing to do the hands on work, I need help getting sponsors and a good car count. The quicker we can get a good idea of the expected attendance the faster we can set a date in concrete and give a good idea of the pay out and entry fee.

It looks very favorable we will have a mobile chassis dyno on site and classes set for a hp king with trophies and money, this can be discussed and decide on what classes to have (sb na) (sb adder) (bb na) (bb adder) ect................

We all need to understand that dates and classes picked will most certainly not suit every one but we will try to make it best for the majority.

There will also be a rain out date given at the same time as the race date to let everybody get their vacations scheduled. I know how hard it can be later in the year to get off work.

Guys I really want this to happen, I have already as others have done a bunch of work to see if this could happen.

I am working on some vendors to come also. The man I am dealing with at the track said he would line up some things for the children to do and have several things between rounds for entertainment.

Red will post some pictures on this post of the track and Lee I think will too so you can see what the track looks like.

The track is about 35 min. off of I 65 and the exit, I think is about an hr south of Nashville Tn. This is a very centrally located track north to south.

Again I need help landing sponsors and getting a good car count..........................

Blake ... about how long does it take from Bowling Green, KY to there because, I know it is 9 hours from here to Bowling Green and that would give me some idea.

One hr to Nashville and 1 1/2 to Us 43 all 4 lane. If you drive like me knock 30 min off those times
