Yes to balancing ......even if stock rods were used figured it can't hurt even at lower rpm
vs some others builds that scream to 7k plus

I think I would still stick with the cam Blake recomended, and not push the hypers too hard.

Re: Eddy head 460 with icon pistons
Thats the plan
going to use cam he suggested
thinking of going with those h beams , but at same time may use the stock truck rods that have arp bolts in them. I have thought if im willing to buy h beams ...why stop there get forged pistons as well . Then that defeats the purpose of using what i have
i had the pistons from another engine and rods , and had a ground 10/10 crank that was never ran is the reason for the build . Instead of selling each piece i figuared i could put together a low $ motor for now . plus i have a set of eddy cj heads 75 cc out of the box not ported that would work .
balancing the setup i feel is a must ....even if i use stock rods are used

Re: Eddy head 460 with icon pistons
been thrashing on car ......
bought a set of h beams to go with the KB hypers ( figuare rods be more forgiving)
should get 10.5 to 1 compression .
I have a viktor intake but could sell and get a tfs mafia if any gain could be had ? Trying to get most out of what i have for now but could sell intake i guess to get another one ..i dont know
heads are out of box eddy 75 cc .... going to get with someone to do a custom solid flat tappet cam to get the most of it.
550-575 hp is my goal

Should have kept the stock rods and bought better pistons. Can yhey last? Yes, so long as it never rattles and the ring gaps follow or exceed kb direction. Seen a handfull of hypers in the pan, because street warriors doing cheap added hose.

Build it, beat it, enjoy it.
Some times we kill ourselves with how can we make it bullet prof, only to spend 1000's and still have something we outgrow, blow up, or just get bored with.
We all sit back and tell you how you could have, should have, etc....... yet, every lap you make, is one you made without our enlightened input.
Build what you have, best of luck, and enjoy.

Do you have the small block parts to make a 10sec build laying around?

No ...point was shouldn't take a ton of power at 2700-2800 lbs to go those times....... the eddy heads I have are cj cnc port openings to use to help the issue

if my math is correct for drag race gasoline
.0329 top ring end gap
.016-.017 for second ring end gap
.002-.0045 piston to wall clearance
For a 4.390 Bore
