I been doing research I see motors like 532 557's
I see some make.750ish and some say 1100 HP. Is this rwhp or.flywheel?
and what makes that much of a differance in power?
heads?
Cam?
more compression?

I don't think you can make say1000hp on 93 pump gas right?
And what's better a 532 or a 557 ? One will rpm higher that the other?

My 408. Has flattops and victor Jr heads around 12to1 at most cam is a solid roller with. 700 loft during @.050 is 268/278 super Victor intake with STD. Flange race.demon Carb 1000cfm.never dynoed it
All I know is my n/a MPH in1/4 mile is 124
on 200shot 138...that is running straight C16 car weight with me? Dunno
83 gt with AC box removed. Also have L/W Member with front coil. Overs flaming river rack.am 180lbs has f/glass hoodwhays dose. My numbers look.like on my little 408w on Nos and not on Nos?

I'm thinking of it more now. But you all know what is needed since I got no bbf stuff.what am liking at? Oil pan to Carb.I will need manual brakes. Or do they make a slim line brake booster.I'd really want power brakes of possible.I tried the manual set up on my 408 I went into the grass at the end of the track was damp and got sideways and almost. Didn't make it out the grass.

im not an expert but i did stay at a holiday inn once Very Happy .....

pump gas , money is no object , a massaged set of a460 heads and as much cubic inch ( 632+ ) , get someone like Lem Evans and Oakley Race Engines to put you together a complete package .meaning right cam and induction package .... i dont see were 1000 hp would be a problem


but cubic inches will be your friend on the pump

well I can say that that block may be out of the? But how mu h is it?
thinking I could sell my complete 408 has 13 passes. On it to have some cash plus some extra cash

Been awhile.since I stayed at a hoilday inn LOL.

X2 your not going to build a pump gas N/A 1000hp motor for a few thousand dollars.

The one bruno posted is probably $25K + complete

get rid of the pump gas and the cost per hp starts going down and is easier to get.

You can build a lot more power with basically the same money until you start paying for fuel. The compression does simplify things. I figure if you can build 1000 hp you can more than likely afford a quality fuel.

I think you may have misunderstood basically these guys are saying its not be cheap, to make 1000 n/a on pumpgas is gonna require alot of cubes. What Richter is saying is with more compression same power can be made with less cubes. 750-850 is fairly striaght forward with 520-560 cubic inchs on pumpgas.
