I have shoehorned a 429 into my 67 cougar. It's awesome, but I have very little hood clearance.
I want to use the Thermo-Quad from a 74 lincoln 460.

I have D0VE-C heads, so no CJ intake.
Don't have room for the edelbrock RPM. (too high)

Ford used the TQ carb on some (all?) CA 460s in 74.
I need that intake. Don't know the casting number, never seen this part.

I am in the midwest, so I will need it shipped.
Serious buyer.

Have you checked out a Edelbrock torquer 2??? They are real close to a stock manifold height, might even be a little lower.

Last time I was at Lems he had a few of the Ford Racing ones on the shelf and they where priced right.

Torker intake uses the holley squarebore bolt pattern.

The one that I need takes a Q-Jet pattern.

The manifold for the ford spreadbore (4350) won't work either.
Primaries to close together, holley bolt pattern.

the ones I have are:
D3VE-8425
D5-9425-A3E
D6VE-9425-A3A
D9VE-????????
All are the Q-jet's? spredbore?, Is what I discovered was, ford put the EGR plate over the Q-jet ports, And turned them into the 4-hole holley. (as you stated, same stud pattern)...........
The EGR plates (that i have) are for the holley's... 2 were w/o the Egr plate Q-JET Style. Hope this makes sense.
If they had the GM style, as they used front bolts down from the top of carb. (i've never seen one)

Q-jet and Holley use a different bolt spacing. The ford spreadbore used the Holley
bolt pattern. Q-jet and TQ are different. The TQ will not bolt up to that manifold.

I believe the casting number to be D4VY-9424-C.

I have the stock one that came off my '68 460. If I remember correctly it had a spread bore carb on it. I will check tonight. It would probably cost quite a bit to ship.

That intake is a CJ.

8man1320 why not just use the CJ intake? It will fit, just have to use a CJ intake gasket. Back in 1970 Ford recommended swapping the CJ/SCJ intake on to a std. port head for a 35 hp boost. Ford even used the iron SCJ intake on boat motors with D3VE heads for years, port mismatch and all. try it, you may like it...

That is interesting info. I am worried that with the head ports being smaller, the flow will be all jacked up.

Maybe not???

Can you drill and tap some holes? And do a little grinding?

Or if you can't just use a short adapter plate, they are available commercially. The torquer 2 manifold is much better than a stock iron one.
