updates
Stopped down in Ky on my way back to NC to see some progress. While i was there we decided on a few changes. The blower pullies will be flipped inward to releave the stress on the crank and the blower drive. We initiallly had it the other way due to clearance on a mechanical water pump and the pulley on it. We will be going to an external pump which will allow for all the accessories to have there own belt and adjuster. We are now down to some of the smaller details being worked out before getting it up on the dyno.
more puzzle pieces
santa came again and dropped some things off
magna fuel 4 port regulator to help with the 500 pump
B&M ratchet shifter- this will be mostly a street car and with a reverse manual valve body it will be nice to just ratchet forward or back a gear.
All the gauges showed up except i need to test the sending unit before i buy the fuel level gauge. The are all autometer ultralites. Tach is a 5", speedo is 3-3/8, volt, oil pressure, oil temp, transmission temp, water temp all 2-1/16, and then the liquid filled fuel pressure and boost will be on the back of the blower and are 2-5/8. I will be replacing the bulb to a blue one so at night the edge will glow blue.
I also picked up a FAST dual O2 sensor module. I want to be able to monitor the a/f on this thing at all times being that it's boosted. We will be mounting it behind a stainless piece so all you will see is the screen and then the buttons. I also picked up the RPM module so i can record a run and it will be referenced to the RPM.
last but not least i picked up a clarion double din deck. The deck has it all bluetooth, dvd, gps, xm, ipod, rear view camera. This is a driver, not a race car so i plan on having some of the nicer things.

Dave,
As much as i would like stuff to just show up and not worry on how much has been spent, i couldn't do it. As soon as the motor comes back I am turning on the stated value insurance with Hagerty. I do contracting for the Marines so money and spreadsheets are second nature. I have my spreadsheet with the part nomenclature, part #, vendor, date purchased, and price. I just try to stay away from the bottom of the sheet where the total is. I think in the end in case i ever need to replace anything it will be a good tool.
Dyno Day
Well unless something crazy happens tomorrow is finally D-Day. I received the below pic last week with it sitting on the dyno waiting a few bolts for the blower pullies and the water connections to be ran. It will be running 93 octane as this is a 95% street build. Phillip can correct me, but i believe it's 8:1 compression and a custom grind roller cam. The heads have seen some love from Charlie Evans mostly on the exhaust. The carbs are custom 850 quickfuel's. The blower is a 8-71 Don Hampton with teflon rotors.

waiting on two minor details which require a phone call back from other vendors. Looks like it will be first thing tomorrow morning. I've waited this long no reason to rush it now.
Re: Blown boss 9 66' Fairlane
Probably sporting a woody waiting on this thing to fire, I know I would be. Good Luck

Nice numbers!
949hp is 110 octane and 933hp is 93 pump gas....I'm not sure if we have verified the dyno boost gauge yet, but on the race gas it was at around 13lbs....not sure on the 93
Re: Blown boss 9 66' Fairlane
Don,
I got there late, but was there for the last two dyno pulls and everything about it is very nice
Dave,
Just over 14 lbs. of boost on the pump gas pulls.

Good to hear you made it! I was wondering if you were hanging out during the dyno time. Thank you for all your efforts and help on this one and answering my questions back in May 2011 when i called the first time.

Don,
You're welcome, but Phillip Oakley is the one who did all the hard work. You've got a great engine.

Re: Blown boss 9 66' Fairlane
I knew a 1000 hp would be tuff to get with that low of boost. But still over 900, and the best thing,,,,,,,, Pump gas and reli-able!!! you wont be able to keep the rubber on the tires!
Great job! Love the build!
I have a 14-71 that will wake that bitch up!!!

Thanks I'm happy with the numbers and the torque is more than enough....if I get the retarded need of getting 1000hp on pump gas I'll get a cooler.
