429 cam quest
i have a d1ve block, dove heads, stealth intake, headers stock pistons and valve size trans is a c6 with 2200 stall and running 456 gears in a cj7 jeep
run on sand only with 20 wide paddle tires
so now the big question is i called comp cam and the cam that they recomended to me is 34-239-4 that has lobe lift of .3200/.3320 gross valve lift of .554/.574 this seems to be a big cam to me for what i am running i have the heads off now and want to put new springs and do a grind on valves while i have it apart trying to keep the cost down sum (have baby on the way) will this cam work for me or is comp spot on with the best cam for me?.
.also i run race fuel 110 octain in it too but may do 92 oc rather to save 2 bucks a gallon

Re: 429 cam quest
You will have to have the guide cut down for that lift .540 lift is all you can with out valve guide work plus new springs.I would have Randy M , Lem or one of the others on our site make you a cam from your ride you will like it alot better than a off the shelf cam.

Yea, that's about right; (very bottom of the retainer at the valve stem where the locks are).
Most seals are about ,180" thick but, they vary some.
Re: 429 cam quest
well the heads are done and plenty of room for bigger lift cam and now just wait for the rest of the parts and get it going again will let you know how this cam works out for me
