If you have pushrods in you 335 Series Ford engine that are noticeably different in length, something has been changed or something is wrong!

this motor was built, I got the car with the rockers and pushrods off cause he spun a rod last year racing it and when the car sits for a long time, the guy takes the arms off to releive the springs. It has a 653 lift roller set up in it with stud girdles big springs and T-retainers and locks. He shifted this this at 8800 rpms so its not stock. I have the motor all back together and noticed that it has 2 differetnt lenngth pushrods, thats why I was asking. Tried to contact the guy with no results. Going to figure out now if it has a longer valve on one or the other.LivermoreDave wrote:If you have pushrods in you 335 Series Ford engine that are noticeably different in length, something has been changed or something is wrong!

Do you have valve tips of different heights? Different brand or application rockers? Any thing noticeable as to why the different length of pushrods? Install the valve train for one valve and check the pattern on the valve tip after rotating the engine. Pattern OK ? Try the other length pushrod on the same valve. Does the pattern look better or worse? Do the same procedure on the opposite valve, (i.e; intake / exhaust).
