more of a radius on the inside edge would strengthen it considerably but would require a chamfer on the rocker arm too.
after looking closely at the picture of the break, I see the shaft broke at the center bolt just like mine did. with mine the 2 outside bolts broke then the shaft. my stand remained intact. I am sure the outer bolts may have been over torqued.
