Re: Nitrogen push systems ?
I'm just wondering here.
Are you big believer in the nitrogen push systems? I use to hear talk that no one really made a system that worked in reality as it would seem in theory. If I remember right it was the owner of WON that might have been talking about it at one time. All though I allways wondered since then.

I'm not a believer in them at all.. I watched closely the guys who tried them when I was running in Pro Mod and they were no quicker then anyone without one.. And even today I haven't found a need to look at one still.. There are several things you can do just in your bottle and supply configurations to minimize pressure drop without adding another thing to maintain.. Thanks, Steve

Re: Nitrogen push systems ?
Since we are on the subject of pressure and volume.
Is there a differance in n2o temprature? (Tune to tune)

Re: Nitrogen push systems ?
Temperature has a direct effect on the bottles pressure.. SJ

Re: Nitrogen push systems ?
So as long as the pressure is the same it doesn't matter if the n2o is -200 or -100 degrees, same amount of energy is being applied thru the jets?
Sorry if this seems redundent, I just didn't know if I asked the question exactly like I was thinking.

Re: Nitrogen push systems ?
As for the temp of the NITROUS ??? It again is going to be the same temp as the bottle when just sitting stationary.. As I was saying the bottle temp will dictate the bottles pressure when the bottle is just setting under pressure. The temp or the nitrous needs to see a pressure drop to start to phase change and freeze.. At that point as it comes out into the atmosphere it will be at aproximately -127 F.... Hope this make a little sense to you now... SJ

I don't know what I was thinking. You are 100% correct, I guess I was just over thinking.

Re: Nitrogen push systems ?
The Nitrogen push setups never made much sense to me. There an example of over-engineering a fix to a problem.
You go to the added expense (cost of constant filling with a different gas) to add a second pressurized bottle to the car to help keep the pressure up on the first bottle. Makes more sense to just add a second bottle containing nitrous, or use one bigger bottle. Either way you have a larger storehouse of volume/pressure to last the whole pass without having to deal with remembering to fill one of the bottles with a second different gas all the time.

That's what I'm talking about !!! I have said many times that a properly set up supply can really minimize the pressure drop during a run.. The number and size of the bottles, as well as the size and length of the lines has a lot to do with your results... Keeping it simple really works well.. SJ

Re: Nitrogen push systems ?
We used to offer one of these systems starting back in the early 90's and have the patent for the bottle adaptor but found over the years the cost and hassles with it did not out-weigh the benefits. You have to remember this was back in a time when guys didn't use bottle heaters for the most part and it was common to see them in the staging lanes with torches. We discontinued the system a few years ago even though I have seen others trying to resurrect their own. As SJ mentioned properly setting up and tuning the system is still the best and most consistant route to go.
