Re: How much NOS ?
How big of a shot can you get out of a plate system on a dual plane intake (safely, in your opinion)?
I want to run low 10's in a 4,000lb truck with a 500hp NA engine, leaf springs and drag radials. Do you think a plate kit will be able to get me where I want to go?

Re: How much NOS ?
That's a tough one to answer ???
If it were mine I would start small and work my way slowly up watching the distribution on ALL 8 plugs as I went...
As for what it will take ?? Depends on several things ?? Converter, gear, cam, compression and so on...SJ

Re: How much NOS ?
I sprayed a 175 shot on a stealth and ran a best of 11.41 at 116. I changed the converter to a Coan, put 1 7/8 headers on instead of 1 3/4, changed exhaust to an x-pipe with Magnaflows and put a mismatched victor on it and it ran 11.0 at 119 with the same jets. Upped the jets and have been 10.85 at 120. Thats at 4100lbs and drag radials/ leaf springs. The victor intake feels fine on the street with this combo and has 60ft better by a tenth. It could be the converter as well that helped. I think getting the intake milled and port matched to the ported D0VEs and a upgrading the Comp XE284H cam to a custom grind solid lifter could drop quite a bit off this time. Plus fine tuning the nitrous.

I'd be very happy if my truck ran as good as yours! I know I have a little more cubic inches and higher compression so I hope it's possable. When I first watched your video I could tell that this isn't your first rodeo with nitrous.
529cu
Evans ported D3
1150 Quickfuel Dominator
10.8:1c/r
Edelbrock RPM intake
Cartwright camshaft 102ls 598/613lift
1-7/8" headers
PTC c6
PTC 10" nitrous converter
3.50 gear
29.5 drag radial
4000-4300lb truck
I hope to be able to run 10's on the spray.

Im not sure what your elevation is (mine is pretty close to sea level) but you shoudnt have any problem at all with that set-up and less nitrous. That set-up should put you pretty well into the 10s without much trouble. How long before its running?

Elevation is around 400'
Probably next summer. Basic nickle and dime stuff left to do and I have ran out of nickles and dimes! LOL Just finished sanding down and painting the frame rails. In the process of installing the 9" out of the 79 and removing some leafs out of the spring packs right now.
I only get every other weekend to work on the truck.
I have to rework the exhaust, install the ignition, wire gauges, driveshaft, driveshaft safety loop and fuel lines.

Re: How much NOS ?
Yeah im about the same or a little higher. You should have no problem running the numbers your looking for. What plate do you have? How are you running the dominator on the dual plane?
I have a 9" out of an 86 truck that would bolt right in but your pretty far away. Im not sure if or how much different the 73-79 rears are.

I plan on using a I-S system and using an adapter plate for the intake and dominator. As far as the rear axle, I believe they are the same width. I have yet to go out to put a tape to it. I'll start a project build thread as soon as I get some new pictures.
I might end-up ordering a single plane intake if I see it's going to be a big problem.

Re: How much NOS ?
I would especially with a dominator. I dont think the adapter plates flow very well but I could be wrong. There isnt as much hood/air cleaner clearance on the 80 and up trucks either so the added height will cause problems. If you want I can send you pics of my dads 95 f150 with a 460 in it. It just went 11.94 at 112 with a 150 shot 1.62 60ft. Its a 466 with stock unported D3s stock rockers single springs, dished pistons so the compression is very low, XE274H, stealth, 750dp, 1 3/4 headers, NOS Super powershot plate. Hoping to bump up the spray and get it into the 11.50 range.
