Depends some on the form of racing and whether you have iron or aluminum heads. It is not quite as simple as compression.

X2 ... there are several fuel octanes which will work with that compression ratio. It is a matter of what YOU want from your fuel.
With 14/1 compression ratio...
C12 works well if it is not stale
C25 will make more power at almost twice the cost
I like "Late Model Plus" because it stores and travels well over long periods of time without changing.
Then there are the oxygenate fuels.
VP113 is probably the best bang for the buck but, again
Q16 will make more power at about twice the cost.
AND, then there are all the other brands of comparable quality.
I have one customer who swears by the "Powermist". Then Renegade and a bunch of other brands.
As said ... octane is NOT the only spec to look at.

How often you intend to buy fresh fuel will go a long way to determining what you run ... Personally, as said, I would use VP Late Model Plus.

I don't own a race car however, I buy fuel by the 55 gallon drum to be used on the dyno throughout the year and that drum lasts about 6 or 7 months.

Now your rules change to using nitrous so, to get a half way decent educated answer I think you should let it be known how you intend to use this gasoline, what you expect from it and the entire combination of what vehicle and engine it will be used in.
If you are after a specific answer, (instead of what will work), then you should ask the question specifically.
Re: What octane for 14:1cr
Sunoco Supreme here. Mine and friends SBC deal all seemed to do OK on it. $9.50 - $10 bucks a gallon...
Just noticed there is a Shell race fuels dealer near where I work. Going to have to check out what they have.

imo it works great if your running a jet restricted class, the t/u window is narrower, gotta be on your game if your spraying with it. Also if you have a very good combustion chamber you have to really pull a lot of timing out.

Narrower is an understatment. 3 SETS of HG's until I figured it out, lol. And my game was good!
