Re: The FE Build.
Cool FE. I learned all about motors from the FE, as I had a 390, then a 428 in my first car--a 1967 mustang GTA fastback.
put it on the fe forum also !
Nice merc and you should have a good runner for it .I am waiting to pick up the heads for my 428 build going into my 69 cyclone .I had to wait for some valves from SI .dfree have you any experience with si valves ? their prices are reasonable and the valves at least look good .They were$191 with shipping .Good luck and let us know how it turns out .Doug

Re: The FE Build.
I'd use SI valves in street performance stuff, they make a good product IMO.

Should be a fun engine depending which small mechanical flat tappet street cam you went with... looking forward to hearing the results dave... hope it all works out in your favor.

Re: The FE Build.
The good old FE. My 390 is still runnning strong with about 2000 runs on it. My Falcon ran 7.11@97 last night at 3300lbs
Re: The FE Build.
Mike only took it to 4800........
It made 425 hp @ 4800 was still climbing and 500 ft lbs.
I figure with another 1000 rpm its probably in the 450-475hp range.........

Re: The FE Build.
Did it make peak torque @ 4800? To bad mike didn't find the horsepower peak... how much duration @.050 and what LSA? Must be fairly large for a cruiser. Ya don't see dyno data on FE's very often... thanks for sharing.

Its a small cam IMO 231 242 just under .600 lift on a 110.
Blake I'm not sure why Mike didn't pull it a little higher, I'm guessing he had a brain fart or was in a hurry?

Re: The FE Build.
You gonna be revving that thing above 5k? I would think with that cam it should get real close to 500HP once it hits its peak. Very cool car BTW. By the looks of all your projects, you're obviously not married.

Re: The FE Build.
It's just a cruiser and car show queen won't see much if any track action, other than I have a rivalry with a 73 Buick Electra that needs a woopin'
No wife and Kids...... Is it that obvious?
