When did Ford start putting Roller Cams in the Windsors? Do the blocks have taller lifter bosses like the 5.0's?

I believe it was 85 for the mustang, the same block was used for the trucks but they didn't get the cam until 94. The difference is there are two raised bumps in the lifter valley. They drill and tap them for the two bolts that hold that bracket in. If you give me your number I can send you pictures of it. I drill and tapped mine and converted it to a roller cam. Very easy, just need shorter pushrods to accommodate the extra length of the lifters due to the roller tips.

EDIT- I saw windsor and thought 302 Laughing Stupid me. Never mind, but It was around 94 still for the trucks I believe.

1994 was the first year for 351w roller cam engines. The casting will be F4TE.

I never understood that either. The latter part of 93 ford switched over to the "roller blocks",but continued to use a hyd. flat tappet cam. Basically the heads (GT40),intake and a little bigger throttle body were the only upgrades I am aware of on the 93-95 lightnings vs. Your regular 'ol 5.8L.

100% CORRECT

Only difference in them was the heads & intake. Everything else is/was the same.

FWIW,....
I've had 6 different 93 models and only two of them had the F4TE roller blocks.
