Must be for shipping purposes looks as the adjustment screw all the way in.Or i need adjust the 12-704 reg to lower the pressure.

What's your fuel PSI on ? I think 7.5 psi is where I would put it to start with!
float level should be in the center of the sight glass.

Re: Carb?
I have no idea why they would have been all the way in,
Turn them all out 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 for a base line. Set your fuel pressure to between 7 to 8 lbs except SV-1 Alky. Pro systems usually have built in sight glasses on all 4 corners w/mark 1/2 way on the glass to set fuel in bowl. Mine was dead on except idle out of box.

Re: Carb?

Re: Carb?
Don't turn them in tight(just till they stop).Then turn out 1 turn,then another 1/4or1/2.

Re: Carb?
I think most of you guys are telling bigjohn how to set the idle mixtures and he is asking about the float level. John you need a 5/8 wrench and a wide blade straight screwdriver to set the float level. Turn the nut clockwise will lower the float level counterclockwise will raise it. You need to lower it so I would pull the carb off and drain the bowls then turn the nut/screw down a few turns then put it back on and turn the pump on. Its easier to raise them than lower because the fuel has to be drained out or run it enough to use the fuel in the bowl. If you start low you can see the level come up when you turn the nut. I keep the screw snug as I'm moving the nut so less fuel squirts out.

Re: Carb?
needs to be runnin to set the float correctly. The float level itself can depend on other things also. Honestly thats one of the things you wouldnt have to mess with on a new pro built carb I would think. It should have been set up for a specific ptressure to begin with.

Re: Carb?
Every pro system I've had if I gave the right info when ordering it. Its been perfect out of the box. Just set idle and go.guess I've just been lucky or Patrick knows I'm a retard and he needs to get it right.r
Re: Carb?
Well drain the carb turn fuel pump on set the reg. 6.5 psi and got the sight glass level on front bowl right then the back but when i looked at the reg. it was creeping up.Is this normal or not the reg. is new?
