Found out why my car was nosing over at half track.
No amount of carb tuning can fix this! haha
That's a hunk of rubber hose stuck in the reg inlet from me gacking up a push-lok hose end a couple of years ago.

I believe it came from here. This pic is from May 2011.

Last time I was at the track was, amazingly, the first time it reared it's ugly head. I initially thought it was a fuel delivery issue and even pulled the fuel filter at the track to make sure it was clean. It was clean as a whistle. Maybe that chunk was lodged in the hose, then finally worked it's way to the reg, I don't know. I have not had the reg off in a long time and an happy it did not do this on Drag Week. I do have a fp gauge but it is under the hood. Fuel pressure always checked out good in the pits.
Just one of those things. Check everything, then check it again! I'm just excited that I found it because the car ran it's best 1/8th ever in Amarillo, just before falling on it's face. I'm glad to have a definitive answer now and not have to guess why it fell on it's face.

Re: Found out why my car was nosing over at half track.
A friend of mine with a supercharged Dodge Dakota was having troubles with fuel injectors clogging intermittently with what looked like a fine black "sand". He finally figured out that the lining inside his stainless braided hoses was breaking down. When I put the stainless braided fuel lines on my car, I figured that they would last forever. Apparently not, I guess I should have gotten the more expensive hose with the Teflon liner inside!
