Re: How much N2O on a stock block?
I have a 514 that I spray 150/250 on all the time (Speedtech) and have 78 runs on this engine. I sprayed 375+ (two systems) and ran a 5.0 / 141 mph in the heat but have only sprayed that much 3 times. Man I love the stuff...what else can you do to drop from 5.60 to 5.0 but I know I am starting to get a little greedy.

Hey I am going to test the same here soon, well maybe not real greedy but hey if you can get away with it, then go for it.

Ouch!!!!!!!!!! Well I guess the block should have broke as well since it looks like everything else did, Oh wait it ain't a chebby.... . I wonder how many BB chevy blocks came apart from a bad tune or a nitrous kaboom.

I would'nt say any cheaper than a 460 ya just get more bang for your buck with a big block thats for sure.

The 1.80 first gear lets that big torqued motor eat. If you really want a good 2 speed go with a Rossler TurboGlide. Both of these allow you to run more gear to really pull the motor down. Seen some rediculous gains switching from a 3spd to a 2 spd and these are 3400lb+ cars that I am talking about.

Re: How much N2O on a stock block?
why does the glide make the car faster?

Lots of truth there.

Re: How much N2O on a stock block?
The Glide does not need a 1.8 low gear the 1.74 or 1.64 are great you want to load the engine , these Big ford Engine build monster torque load the crap out of it and let the Torque work... also I love the fact that the Glide you have 1 shift and let her eat and not have to worry about having to hit 3rd gear.....much less chance of error during a run......But I DO SUGGEST you get a really Good converter or you will trash a cheaper one.....

Re: How much N2O on a stock block?
when people blow a motor with nos they don't tell they had a holley blue fuel pump on a motor that made 600-800 horsepower + 300 shot gas or the plugs were 6 months old, timing light old as the wax behind their ears or just don't know what the hell doing it always the nos. Before ANYONE starts using nos get someone like steve on here to go over their setup that includes fuel system, ignition system, timing and so on. what i am saying it always easy to blame the problem on nos and not on the real root of the problem.

Re: How much N2O on a stock block?
Update: I've since put a glide with the stock 1.76 gear and a progressive system on the car and sprayed 200 leaving on 55 percent 1.5 seconds in and ran a 5.73 @ 122 with a 1.31 60ft.On 275's It felt like a sunday drive. I'm gonna bring it in a little quicker. I ran 21 degrees timing and there was no timing mark on the plug and fuel looked good. I'm going to add a degree at a time and keep my eye on it. Then go for a 275 shot then to a 300. Anybody think 5.40's are possible? I'm still working out all the bugs. Lol I will prob have a fogger before I put 300 on it. (I'm pretty sure I will be ok with my A2000 fuel pump)

Re: How much N2O on a stock block?
he sprayed 55% of 200 shot at 1.5 sec in the run and ran a 5.70
if he ups the percentage and has it come in quicker in the run, say right after the 60ft mark and it hooks....it will go a 40....and might possibly not need 300
great job by the way..gotta luv when a plan comes together!!

Re: How much N2O on a stock block?
Thanks, I just ordered a Fogger and it will be on soon. This will help with tuning especially because the runners on the victor intake are longer on the corners and shorter in the center. We are going to ramp it in a little quicker and leave out of the whole on a higher percentage. Trying to get some 1.2X 60fts. The car was only supposed to be a low ten second car. I shut it off before the 1000 ft. mark and coasted to a 9.24 @ 120 . . . I am very conservative with timing. I know there is a limit but I'm going to push my stock .030 over 2 bolt main block as far as I can only because people say it cant be done.

Re: How much N2O on a stock block?
cant speak from experiance with a 302, but what a have read as well as you most likely is that you will be able to make the power but the block will fail. seems like the web is not strong enough for that amount of hit. you should try your same combo and attempt to "air it out" a little more....you might be surprised

He's running a 545bbf. a factory 302 block will NOT run in the 5's at his weight........more than once. I have seen factory 351's down in the fives but talk about cap walk.

Re: How much N2O on a stock block?
250hp shot with the fogger leaving on 43 percent off the trans brake all on in 1.2 seconds... 1.28 60ft. 5.64 @ 119 the car stumbled a little at the end of the track (twice) so once I fix this problem it should 50 easily.
