Cool ole ride
Posting a few pics for Ward (Dr's Wife Racing)
New ride. I think it's pretty cool. Don't see many of these left.
66 F250 4X4 short bed, early 351W, 4 speed with double low. Newer axles from a late 70's ? F250

Axles are the old style big hub d44 front with low pinion from an early 70's high boy. Cool truck for sure. Looks like a solid body.

Re: Cool ole ride
Body is very solid. It runs and drives. Not a 100% but better than yard drives. It was a abandonded project that some one did pretty good work on. It had the axles from a newer truck put in. It has power disc brakes and power sterring. It has a power sterring box from a newer model dodge truck. They did a nice job on the install. It drives good. 4 wheel drive functions with no noise or any thing. The only rust in it is at the very front of the bed where thy hold water and it needs a small patch in the drivers floor board. It has a nice set of duals on it. I think the motor is weak Oil pressure is weak. Has a rear main leak and carb needs a rebuild. Might have a falty oil sending unit?? Plan on making it a driver and for light use around the farm and house. Best thing is I was able to just trade stuff I had laying around for it.
I also bought a 66 f 250 from the scrap yard. Long bed 2 WD. Its a parts truck that came home for scrap price. Its really too good to part out but it will fix 2 trucks. My brother inlaw has a 66 he is restoring,I gave it to him a couple of yrs ago. Parts truck is orignal and complete. Pretty streight body and amost of the chrome is good. It has a 390 with a double low four speed complete from the oil bath breather to oil pan. It has everything I need to complete the 4x4 truck including a set factory "Western Tow" mirrors. They were worth the cost of the truck.
There is one thing very unusual on this truck. Give you a hint . It is to do with the body and is in plain sight. The parts to put it back correct are on the parts truck but I may leave it the way it is. David you can't play you know the answer.

Front fenders? Had a 63 2wd 7 foot bed stepside, someone put a 292 Y Block in, miss that old truck. Did they make any 7 foot bed fleet sides?

Your both right
I forgort about the grill. The entire front cap is from a dunp truck lights in the grill is a dump truck thing to.I have a stanless grill. Fenders have a huge opening. They also have a flair. It had 35 inch mudders on it. I didn't get them with the truck. Not going all orig. but want a stock type look.
Thought that would be harder than that.

Not sure what I'll wind up doing with it. It is a pretty sound with very little work. I have a good many parts for it to go alot different ways. I won't do much with it untill after deer season. I have it home now and safely stored away.

Re: Cool ole ride
Been fooling with it for the past couple of days.Have the brake lights working now. act. all the lights but turn signals. I'm sure Ill have to go into the column for that. It is nice to work on something simple. The only real issue I have found is the bed floor is worse than I thought. Any one know of a source for a bed floor ? It is still usable but not much of a way to make it look decent except to cover it.Going to bolt it down anyway and I can drive it around some

LMC Trucks
jeffgfg wrote:LMC trucks for all your parts needs.
Personally I wouldn't buy a 1/4"-20 nut from LMC. The quality of their products absolutely suck. I did a Suburban body on resto-mod a few years back and EVERYTHING that we bought from then was garbage. The NEW rear bumper we got from them had the chrome already peeling off of the nickel backing and 3/4s of the chrome just lifted right off of the bumper, all the door and trim pieces were crap too. Thier customer service was down right rude and beligerant, thier shipping time blew....but the prices were right there with JC Whitney! lolol Seriously, do yourself a favor and source out another vendor.

Re: Cool ole ride
Are you sure about LMC's prices? I have not compared them, but I know their intakes and carbs, or a joke, compared to other places. They do have alot of other stuff that is hard to get, but if it is China junk, that is not good.
