Custom F350 Truck/Bronco in 1990?
A friend has a custom F350 that looks like a 4 door full size Bronco, but it's rear topper section doesn't lift off like on a Bronco, it's all one piece. Is this a factory custom job, or an aftermarket specialty custom?
Any ideas?

Someone built them after the truck left Ford and sold them as an aftermarket conversion. Centurion maybe? Ive seen them with both a 7.3 diesel and a 460 but Im pretty sure a 5.8 was most common.
It sure makes a pretty cool truck.

I've seen a fe of them running around. They came in both 2wd and 4wd versions, all on F350 chassis though.

Ive never seen a 2wd version.
Come to think of it all the ones Ive seen were straight axle leaf spring front suspension so its probably true they were all on F350 chassis.

The 2wd one I saw was done by Magnum. There's a whole world of these things floating around. Check here:

It's got the normal looking twin I beams up front, and monster overload springs out back. When hooking up to a trailer it squats less under load than his Ford dualie does.

I don't know why it took Ford so long to make the Excursion. People were doing this clear back in the 80's. Buddy of mine did one on a 79 body style.

I was going to build one a few years ago. I had an F350 Crew Cab and a Bronco. I did alot of measuring and if I cut the Bronco body right at the back of the doors and attached that to the CC front it would have fit perfectly on a Super Cab short box chassis.
Would have been a cool build!!
