Re: Ford Thunder thoughts and ideas.....
I want to make the point that Blake was one of the few, traveling hundreds of miles to be in attendance there, with a couple buddies without his race vehicle.
We need a lot more of that very thing.
We need a lot more of that very thing.
Re: Ford Thunder thoughts and ideas.....
I can only speak for the us43 race in 2012.that race was never intended to take the place of "the bash". Blake and I were just trying to have "something" for a race to keep everyone together.the folks willing to get together again made it work out.a big part of it was Nick put together the $$.I have a hard time getting away for these events but did intend on making the last one but shit happens. If I can stay away from the hospital I'll be at the next one!

I think everybody just needs to back up and take a breath. Who ever has put this race on deserves credit, weather it's Phillip, Blake, or George. I think it was a lot of work for all of them. It will never be tailored to suit everyone, but the last thing we need to do is turn this in to an arguement over who done the best job. Also attacking someone for having a different outlook is just bad for this deal all the way around. We are supposed to be promoting the BBF learning new things and just having a good time with people with similar interest. All this fighting just makes no one want to come and sure won't do much to promote the race no matter who puts it on. So have a happy Father's Day and back up and remember why we're all on this board.

Doug Rahn wrote:For me it's always been about seeing old friends again, the racing was an added bonus. If I remember correctly, the first two Bash's I was just a spectator. Hell, the ones after that I had to borrow trucks to get my car up, but it was worth every penny and I knew that we didn't stand a snowball's chance in hell of winning. Last year I had a blast at US60 even though I was just a Pit Bitch . This year I just didn't have the $$$ to make the event with Mike, to much stuff breaking down on me, Daily Driver, washing machine, computer, and now my Lawn tractor . Now if Phillip and Lem do put on a Bash, I'll make every effort to be there with or without a car
X2,I had all good intensions of coming w/Harold then going W/Dan and K Fulp to HRR in Bowling Green w/car. But,we are getting the Home and shop ready to be Sold so I can retire on time so I missed both this year. I love the time we all spend together, but to be honest I enjoy Charlie's seminars more because it's all about the peopleand just BS ing w/each other.. We all sometimes get testy on here, but when we are all together its just a magic time for some reason.

Re: Ford Thunder thoughts and ideas.....
Well..........I didn't make it either, but I didn't say I would. I have been in the process of getting my car to the point where it can be competitive in headsup racing.
I'm finally getting there and had a close OSCA race to try it at on the same weekend. So I did. George, if I stepped on your toes, I appoligize, but you know what I have been trying to do for the last couple of years.
I did miss seeing everyone. As far as the track goes, I am not comfortable with trying to lay down 1100 - 1200 hp on these tracks on small tires. Not trying to offend anyone who can, but it's just not for me.
If the next one is a WH, I will probably just spectate.
Happy Fathers Day !!!!

If u know ur not coming just say u won't be, don't say yea we will be there and not come because they are counting on u.
I remember at the 2012 US 43 race we prepaid months in advance. That way you would know who is coming pretty much. Some may still not show, but it would be far less I would think if pepole had to prepay a $100 entry fee.
