New to me setup ready to go
Mockup essentially complete. Waiting on block plate to arrive then its all going together. Pick up thermostat housing tomorrow, then just need plug wires, fuel pressure regulator, a few misc small parts and it'll be time to make some noise.
(nevermind the lift chains, I didn't think about a picture before I put them on).

Yes Offy intake. I have been waiting a long time to get back to a big block. Still have a few more small parts to gather up. Plug wires, fuel pressure regulator... then run the fuel system. I have the rest of the stuff, just need to put it all together. Maybe in a few weeks I'll be making noise with it.
Re: New to me setup ready to go
Dove headed 545. I need a set of heads but money a little tight for them now. Plan to spray the piss out of this one though and hoping for a high 9 out of it on the spray.
Re: New to me setup ready to go
Good luck getting traction with that beast on the hose. Looking forward for the results.

Re: New to me setup ready to go
Those X275 guys hook WAY more power on the same tire. I know there are TONS more money in those chassis than I have to but atleast I got all the right parts (All Team Z suspension) If I can make a SOLID 850 to the tire on the hose I think I can hook it. Worst case I do a mini tub and stick a 315 on it. I KNOW it will stick then. And I'm using a progressive so I am not shocking the tires with 300 from the house..

Re: New to me setup ready to go
True. But I gotta get a brake and a few other parts gathered up before I spray it from the house and gonna need a taller hood.
Re: New to me setup ready to go
Gonna need a scoop. So is that a Port O Sonic with the divided intake runners I believe? I have heard good things about them from some old timers. Looking good.

Re: New to me setup ready to go
No this one is a completely open model. I have only seen one in my years past with the divided runners. Like you, heard good things from the old timers but never had the opportunity to run one.
Re: New to me setup ready to go
I hooked a guy up in 96 with one, and he was very happy as they are hard to find as you say.

What size valves in the DOVE's? Did you get any flow numbers?

Re: New to me setup ready to go
Still slowly chipping away at it. Ran into some extra medical bills and some other stuff last few months so money isn't being thrown at it like I had hoped. Long term project, it'll be done some day maybe.
