Mounting a nitrous bottle straight up
I though I was told once that you would have to install a different tube in the bottle if you wanted to mount a lay down bottle vertical. Is this correct?
Does anyone sell vertical nitrous bottle holders?

I have seen them in McAmis' catalog. I have an Edelbrock in my car welded to the chassis straight up. Will be changing over to a dual mount over the winter!

Re: Mounting a nitrous bottle straight up
When mounting a nitrous bottle upright I point the outlet fitting toward the back of the car so there's a greater chance the siphon (syphon?) tube will always pick up liquid nitrous (under launch loading) since the siphon tube inside the bottle normally points the same direction as the top outlet fitting.

To help maintain bottle pressure only use 50% of the nitrous in the bottle.

I agree with Dave on this one.. We actually mount the bottles in our car standing up right and pointing forward.. If we try and make a second pass on a set of bottles it will start to suck vapor and pop and bang... Looses about 5-6 MPH in the 1/8 as well.. SJ

Re: Mounting a nitrous bottle straight up
Do you use 10lb or 15lb bottles? What determines the size bottles you use?
I was thinking of mounting a 15lb bottle behind my passanger seat standing straight-up.

Re: Mounting a nitrous bottle straight up
Even with a bigger 15 lb bottle, it would probably be smart to put in a fresh bottle every pass just for the sake of consistency. Well.....unless of course your using the small jets, then you might get to rack up a number of passes on one 15 pounder before volume/pressure drop too low.

Re: Mounting a nitrous bottle straight up
Not what your asking but with my 15lbs bottle mounted in the bed in the normal brackets I can get 5 passes out of it with an 82 nitrous jet. Mounting it inside would be nice. I thought of mounting it sideways right behind the drivers side so I can reach the knob without getting out
