Spun Bearings
Racing a few weeks ago and noticed oil pressure gauge fluctuating after run so packed it up for the trip home.
On tear down found oil pump pick up sitting on bottom of pan.
Spun 2 rod bearings.
Scat 9000 series 4.500 crank
Machine shop says there's a 7thou bend in the crank which they say can be ground out by going .020 on the journals.
Machine the crank or replace?

Re: Spun Bearings
Any decent machine shop should be able to straighten the crank before they grind it.

I'd just fix it, didn't get too hot.

+1 I have a FMS 514 (Scat 9000) crank that looked like that. Cleaned at .010 under and the mains stayed std. No problem.

Re: Spun Bearings
Is already at .010 that's where the .020 grind recommendation come from, and more than another .010 and bearing choice becomes a challenge.
