My old shop was in a commercial building that was sold and building a new shop in the back yard has been a year long project. Should have the electrical finished this week (single phase to 3 phase). The new shop is smaller than the old one. -------- How do we collect all this S T U F F ???

I don't know how we do it, but I know it collects easier than it moves. I've moved my stuff twice in the last couple of years and it's a pain!

Time to blow off the dust and cobwebs from the camera and see if I can remember how to post pictures.
There has been a little progress on the Fairlane also.
Well so much for my computer skills after 2 hours of trying access photo that are on it with no success it beat me. Need to talk to my buddy tomorrow.

A friend of a friend made up the white fiberglass dash. It came in at 10 lbs. It was a real stretch for me but I thought I could build an aluminum dash cover that would be lighter. This is what I came up with made from .040 6061-T6 aluminum. It came in @ 3.75lbs
Dash panel with cover removed for easy access to wiring
Dash cover installed looking through driver door.
View of dash through passenger door.
The dash cover is held in place with 2 wing type dzus buttons on each side and a receiver groove along windshield base
Passenger side dash and dzus fastener

Is that one piece of flat aluminum? Or is there some welding going on? Either way it’s still bad ass. Just curious.

Re: 25.1E ------- 64 Fairlane
Some of my friends have suggested polishing but my concern is sun reflection. May leave it raw aluminum -- not sure yet?
This is a shot of the back side showing the welds.
The dash is made up of multiple pieces welded together. This was a real stretch for me. I learned a lot about metal shaping with this project. The fiberglass dash was used as a buck.
I have taken some metal shaping classes in the past From Kent White @ www.tinmantech.com and Lazze @ www.lazzemetalshaping.com and now I am pushing my personal limits.

Spray it with some contact cement & lay some leather/vinyl around it. Or have one of the vinyl car wrap places "wrap" it.

I am located in north California about 100 miles south of the Oregon border on the coast in the redwoods. If you look at a map of the USA I live on that point that sticks the farthest west into the Pacific ocean.
