So will Kristina Lawyer, and I'm sure we'll see Greg Sullivan there also.

Kristina did great, made it to the semis and broke out. Previous race was awsome, heads up 4.61... And she won by .003.... Bad azz racing going on tonight.

Which engine is she running these days? More details!

That 572 TFS A-460 headed engine of mine. She's had it in there since last year, and last week, when somebody on the other forum took a verbal swipe at it, I decided on an appropriate nickname for it, it's "The Service Engine".

I remember when Lem, Todd and I built it, Lem said I'm going to give you a camshaft that's kinda' mild and easy on the valve train. Sure enough here we are, well over one year later and we've never broken a valve spring, or had to change one yet. I've given Todd some spare valve springs, one of those fancy dandy tools to change them with, and they do check the springs regularly. I'm not saying those springs don't break, but we do run a titanium intake valve, so that helps take care of the weight deal, and the engine doesn't see much more than 7,400 rpm.

Anyway, the car gained 198 pounds when we put the 572 in. The reasons for the big weight gain are;
1. Lenghtened the chassis 6"
2. SVO A-460 block, with much heavier heads, tunnel ram intake manifold, second Dommy carb, and complete dry sump system.
3. Heavier MagnaFlow 500 fuel pump verses the old belt driven mech.
4. 9" convertor vs. 8"
5. engine diaper
6. added a rear wing
7. dual caliper brakes instead of singles
8. Nitrous bottle, bracket and lines
9. Bigger/ heavier slicks and wheels
10. It weighs 1998 lbs. now, so we just call it 2000 lbs.

So we got the car dialed in and repeatable on a 4.61 and Krissy did her fine job of driving, so she won her first round with a .009 package, the second with a .010 package, and the third was by .003 like Dave said above. In the semi-finals her competition had a .002 reaction time, and she pushed the car out (break out) trying to catch him. She had a good light herself, but a .002 is just too tough! She won a little money, so I think they are going to Pacemakers Dragway in Ohio in 3 or 4 weeks for the next Jegs Quick 32 race.

Me? I'm enjoying my Sunday morning coffee!

880 hp @ 1800 lbs average et mid 4.70's add 150 hp and 200 lbs same et but a tougher combo. Makes good sense when spraying. you know i wouldn't be to disappointed in over 1000 hp out of a heads, 572 cid.

Thanks for the information, Charlie, and congratulations to Kristina on a fine job of driving. You are right, a .002 is tough to beat!
