I have heard it causes disturbances in the flow so not so good.

Re: K&N air filter top
It may or may not be apples to apples, but I run a flat K&N filter on my dragster. It sits inside the scoop tray directly above the throttle body so I would guess it acts just like one of the lids. I've run with and without it and it makes zero difference. I have found dozens of small rocks on top of it though, so I will continue to run it.

Hey, doesn't the red come out when you wash it? And maybe if the filter top wasn't blocked off by a metal plate with a bunch of holes in it, it would be better.

The red is the oil, once you oil it again it becomes red.

Re: K&N air filter top
Well I was wondering if I could wash the red out because I want to put a different color oil in it. I don't want to put red back in it.tiger wrote:bb429power wrote:Hey, doesn't the red come out when you wash it? I ran one on my dragster before going to the flat corvette filter with the dual T-2s. No loss of anykind. Gained a lot of piece of mind.
