PHR Big Block Fox Build
I don't know if any of you are following along, but Popular Hot Rodding is building a Fox body with a P-51 headed BBF. It's currently on the 3rd or 4th installment/issue with the installation of the engine in the car. ---> PHR install into the Fox
I started a thread about the engine build a few months back ---> Thread about PHR build 532 w/P-51's . Uncle Charlie even had some high praise for the build up they did.
(original PHR link ---> http://www.popularhotrodding.com/tech/0906phr_big_block_ford_engine/index.html)
I just think it's a good thread to follow for the build up and a good one for the 'proven builds' section and we can all follow along and see how it goes, and maybe even give them some positive feedback. Sure, they're probably playing to their sponsors a bit, but so far it seems like a decently legit build.

That project really pizzez me off. Did y'all read where the guy was hatin' on the C6 and so he had a "bulletproof" TH400 built for the car?
That's when I quit reading.

Re: PHR Big Block Fox Build
yeah, I did a lot of eye rolling when that stanza came out.....but hey, a ton of the guys on this site run GM trannies (I'm not one of em) so ahhh well.
Still think it's good info for all of us, especially folks new to the BBF.
anyhow, here are a few parts of the buildup I missed posting:

Hooker Max Flows are LOUD. Ask me how I know.
They also need to put a driveshaft loop in that thing.

They need to ditch the TH400 and stick a 'glide in it. 532" and drag radials and a 3 speed= traction issues....but what do I know!

I'm not impressed with its performance, I would have expected it to be faster.

Yep, but oh well..... I guess their sponsors wanted 'em to use a 3-speed for whatever reason.

Re: PHR Big Block Fox Build
What a lame way to make a project. HEll my car is better than that. I run a c6, weiand T/R and to top it off I have 2 750 holley 4160 carbs. The thing is they should have done what I did. Get advice from the guys on here. Till I build this motor I never even looked at a 460.
Oh yea who runs DR's unless they have to if they want max traction with factory suspension. I have 1.40's on my 60 ft with a 9" tread, as factory as you can get, with a heavier car.

Re: PHR Big Block Fox Build
1. its sad attempt like always from the magazine project cars
2. T-400 will work with radials, David Wolfe runs a Rossler T-400
3. I hope they figure it out.
