Re: what fuel ???
Is Lem tring to say thats not a nitrous specific camshaft? Ok,,, if not just blame it on the converter!
Sorry Lem,, all these local racers order these Jay Allen nitrous camshaft and complain that they slow down off the spray.

Re: what fuel ???
Nick, you might only have 13.5:1 now, but just imagine how much higher the cylinder pressure spikes with the nitrous on. Without investing in some dyno time to actually find out how cheap you could safely go on the gas, the safe bet is to stay with the C16.

Well then I guess it's time for another trip to the dyno if Nick never asked the "how cheap can my gas be with nitrous" question the first time on the dyno.the Coug wrote:Dave he had the engine dynoed when Lem built it....
Nick, was the first dyno pulls only N/A, or did they also include nitrous pulls?

Re: what fuel ???
from VP Fuel Tech
I would recommend our C-12, it will support up to 15 to 1 compression and 8500 rpm's. It will also handle up to 200 horse of nitrous.
Thanks,

Re: what fuel ???
A+ Strikes Again..... I've never enve bothered adding up my cost per run, I'm afraid I'd jump off a bridge or something If I'd do it......... Whats really depressing is calculate the total cost of everything and divide in by the number of runs and really scare yourselfrichter69 wrote:A 5.60 pass costs me $12.72 a run, a 70 pass runs $4.23..............
Lets see if you build a simpe basic car and run it for one year assuming 10 races and average of 6 passes per race.......
Car / Chassis $15000
Motor $15000
Safety Gear $1500
Fuel, Transportation $2500 (Not including Purchase of Trailer and Truck)
Entry Fees $1000 (assume $100 per race)
Total $35000 / 60 Passes = $583.33 per pass.............

Re: what fuel ???
anybody use these renegade fuels .... looks like they are out of Owensboro, KY , they sent me this in an email
Nick,
If you are using a little shot i would go with our 114 or our 116 product. IF you are using a big shot I would say our 118 would be a safe bet it depends on how much you are using.
Let me know if you have any questions at all.

Cant say i have ever wore a set out..............
IF YOUR GONNA FACTOR IN EVERYTHING........gdamn capslock lol............then its a considerable more amount per run. I never looked at it from a money spent standpoint, I build as much as I can afford (without using credit) and go to races I can compete.......approx 2 per month. Both tracks are within an hour, so fuel cost there and back is reasonable.
I just think a guy starts pinching pennies either he has a program out of his league or the wrong hobby altogether. I've never missed a race because I cant afford to go, weather yes.
Honestly there is no reason Nick cant run those number n/a, given the converter and gear etc are suited for the setup.

i sell VP fuel and i would stick to C16 or NO2 for the juice. N/A C12 is more then enough. Richter69 hit it on the head, who adds this sh^& up. do it with cash or don't do it. faster you go the more cash. do the 30% factor when discussing parts with the wife $1200 carb is only $400. and then the cost of racing isn't so bad.
good day to all

i switched to this fuel from c16 the tune ups stayed the same a little yellow color due to the orange color of the 118 nos fuel it is great i sold one barrel to another 10.5 racer running 4.90 two kits the same for him no regrets and for the price differance i am staying with them i know everybody likes vp and qualitly and bla bla blah but this is really good fuel Nick give Renegade a try for the amount you will save go with the 118 nos fuel right from the get go you will not be dissapointed.
