you'd like a 4150 more than 4500 on it and may even run better.JMO Smile

Put the carburetor together correctly using the stock jetting and see how it runs. It'll probably be within a jet size or two and run fine. That way you'll have a solid baseline from which you can fine tune the combination if needed.

ok so the rebuild kit came with two power valves, when i took the carb apart it has two solid "power valves" this is the rebuild kit i have for it...http://www.summitracing.com/parts/HLY-37-1547/

i hear mixed opinions on wether i need them or not, some say in the primary for street use, others like the poser above says none.....

if i could just have this speced by a carb guy i would, but i can not aford that right now......

i could always just use the edelbrock 750 i borke the motor in with to race the camaro at the track and get my ass handed to me...but you guys would not want that would you? Very Happy What a Face

Try the New out of the box Holley tune first, get it running and tune from their. No need to make a major production, you can remove or add power valves later.

As Cool40 mentioned above - with that small of a cam, PI heads, and a stealth intake, it probably would like a good 4150 carb better. It probably won't be any faster with the dominator, and if it is, it may not be by enough to justify the potential headaches of running a box stock 9375 (been there done that).

the jet info i posted above, is the stock setup, if you wanted powervalve operation start with a 84 jet in primaries and use the powervalve.

no powervalve needed in the rear

ok, so this is gonna sound cocky but anyways.....

what the hell do they do to rebuild a dominator that cost 250 bucks! i took this one apart today, and after looking at it, have already stripped it apart.....cleaned it and am almost done putting it back together.....

i understand a charge for tuning it, but most shops near me wanted 200-250 for a simple rebuild without changing the airbleeds.....wtf is up with that, one told me he wouldnt use my parts, id have to buy it from him (i had a rebuild kit sitting around from my last, now missing carb)

maybe the smaller carbs are harder to do, but damn, the was freaking simple....

the only question i have is in the kit came a bunch of little plastic washers, are hey shims to get rid of any linkage play, its the onl thing i cant fifure out.....

a holley carb is pritty simple to rebuild,4500 or 4150.what the people who build them get paid for is not what they do,it's what they know.some would be lost but you sound like you got it goen your way.some carbs do look kinda too high until you try one and find out your 1050 that's always run real good dont even compare to the one that just got bolted on your car and picked your e/t up a couple tenth's or even more.if your gona be tryen jet's and p/v's or no p/v's get you some reuseable gaskets and washers for it and DONT over torque the screws.good luck.
