Re: NOS and the BBF
i am just looking for people running the BBF that have already built one for nos, example a460 heads need more timing than the SCJ heads or i run two foggers on an a460 598. Right now i have a fox with 532 na motor just thinking about upping the game plan down the road and i want some ideas. i cannot run c460 heads.

Re: NOS and the BBF
That sounds like one bad Ford, i was thinking of trying to build one with SCJ type heads i have eldebrock victors on my 532 it has run a 5.50 in the 1/8 th but it normaly runs in the 5.60-5.70 range. this is on a stock dove block the two bolt main it is a low rpm motor max 6500.in a 3000 lb bracket car with a glide, i am now putting the same motor in a fox body mustang stock suspension with a three speed. i was running 4.56 gears with a 33 tall tire in the bracket car but i switched the fox body to 3.50 gears with a 28 tall tire class limited. just starting to test the combination

Our car is a RJ Race Cars 2003 Mustang. It has a 638 BBF with the Thor heads and we hit it with three guns every run.. Powerglide and weighs 2400 to 2450. Runs 4.20's in the eighth and has been a best of 6.52 @ n216.69 in the quarter..... Thanks, Steve

Re: NOS and the BBF
Thanks guys.. BBF's can get er done if all's set up properly that's foresure !!! Thanks, SJ
Re: NOS and the BBF
Yeah Damon, our best time this year is 5.04 at 145.12MPH in the 1/8mile. This was done at 3420 lbs & one (1) kit, no wheelie bars & on true 29.5 x 10.5 tires. We have struggled this year with electrical problems so we have not got to work on tweaking things, just trying to fix problems. Hopefully we will break into the 4's in the near future. 5.04 is the fastest pass in our class this year. You guys take care & have a nice day!!!!

Re: NOS and the BBF
Yeah, I will try to post the build up in the near future, so you guys can see it. I don't claim to be an expert or anything special,(there have been plenty of people much faster than my partner & me) but my partner & I have been fairly successful in our headsup racing endeavors over the past several years. You guys take care & have a nice day!!!

Re: NOS and the BBF
I am running a 77 cc A-460 headed 603 with a fogger. It's a svo block, 4340 4.5 crank, BME aluminum 6.7 rods, diamond custom flat top nitrous pistons, with 1.332 compression distance, Custom Comp Cams 285/304 318/342 799/799 114 LS, 1250 Dominator, Powerglide, very tight UCC converter, 3.70 gears. 85 Mustang mini tubbed with 28X10.5 S tires @ 3240# with me and it's run a 5.49 so far on the first weekend out on a 250 hit without a progressor or wheelie bars. I am hoping for some 5.30's with a progressed 350 hit next month but we will see. It's not near as fast as I thought it should be but with the converter only stalling 3500 on the t-brake and a carb that is way out I guess it might improve. But if I loosen the converter to 4500 or so I am afraid I would have to pull timing to launch just on motor so I am not sure what to do right now besides race it and have fun.

Re: NOS and the BBF
that is moving along I just transplanted my 532 Victor headed bbf in a fox i have not weighed it yet but first time out with no first gear it ran a 6.30 on a 28 x 10.5s still working on traction and transmission problems/ alot different trying to get this one down the track compared to my SBF on NOS.

I was thinking my combo should have ran 5.20-30's on a 250 hit.

6.12 @ 117 with a 1.44-1.46 60ft but it bogs to idle almost with that converter and 3.70's.
