Gas vs High Octane
Currently I'm running 33 degrees of timing. My compression is just under 10:1. Question is, is this too much timing for pump gas? I'm trying to find my limits on a pump gas timing. I would like to come up on the timing to see if the motor makes more power but afraid it may be too much timing for pump gas. Does anybody have previous experience with this?

i would do a compression test. anything under 170psi, you should be ok for 93 octane. i would bet that 34 degrees would be your best bet and mile a hour

What heads and cam? What's the rest of the combo? What ignition and how is it set-up?
Experiment with the timing and give it what it wants, you will need to be careful as gas does vary.

Take it up 2* at a time until it falls off. My brothers ole stock 466 (other than hyd cam and stealth ) likes 34 to 36*

C9VE ported w/big valves, solid roller cam 238/242 with 650/656 lift 110LS, dished pistons 9:8:1, digital 6 ignition/pro billet distributor (close fire cap), timing is NOT locked out. Reason I ask these questions because it's good to hear from folks who have experienced these smaller builds. I know I will have to find the sweet spot myself but helps guide me in the right direction before I mess with it.
