Went to Indy this week
Went to see the granddaughter and had a bonus waiting. Got to tour John Force Racing and Don Schumacher Racing. Absolutely fascinating to see these shops. Went and took a few pics at Oreilly Raceway Park and then went to Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum and toured the track. Awesome facility to see in person. After only seeing these places on TV over my almost 50 years it was pretty cool. Met Arie Lyundike (spelling) and got the granddaughter an autograph. I will post some pics later, especially the great shots of the new BOSS 500 block...what a specimen. What a day...seeing the granddaughter and race shops, I was in heaven!

Kerry,
I grew up about 40 miles south of Indianapolis. It was always cool having the Indy 500 that close, and there was always lots of local excitement of all types of motorsports in that area. Since several NASCAR and professional NHRA teams have located their shops near Indy, I am sure that automotive excitement is even stronger. It sounds like you jumped into the middle of it during your visit. I still have lots of good friends up there.
Although I am solid on keeping my race operation based here in Georgia, my original plan was to move back up there in the later phases of life (now). The ability to race year round and the lack of snow, made that plan change a few years ago.
I am glad that you had a good time in Indiana.
P.S.
I just recalled a little fact. My '58 Ford won $25 at a bracket race at Indianapolis Raceway Park (now ORP) in 1973. I would have forgotten but I recently found a copy of my 1973 tax return, where I (very honestly) reported it as "income"!
I hope that you were wearing your KFM shirt during the visit!
Thanks,
Keith

Keith,
Had no idea you were from "up there". I was in awe just being there. I did not wear my KFM shirt but was in my Bash shirt.

Joe the tour guide at DSR
Joe is a chassis builder at DSR. He was a super nice guy. As you can see his buddy behind us was a prankster.
