Re: Motor is IN!!!!!
Ranger's carcass went bye bye via Craigslist a little less than a year ago, just after I bought this car.
I jacked the back end up as high as I could get it and it wiggled in. Took a little bit to get it in, but it was about the easiest swap I have ever done. Besides the steering shaft, the only things I had to remove were the brake lines right at the m/c and the valve covers.

Hooker headers and a QA-1 k member. I do have 1.5" spacers installed in it as well.
Steering shaft looks like it is going to be buckets of fun to reinstall.....

Looks right at home in there!! Nice job.
The steering shaft is a b**ch. I ended up pushing the lower section of the column up into the upper so the U joint is right at the firewall. The I extended the steering shaft about 2-3" and still had to beat the crap out of a couple of tubes. It still rubs a bit.
PM if you want some pics....

Re: Motor is IN!!!!!
I have already moved the u-joint back and extended the steering shaft. Getting to that top bolt may be a trick with the booster in there.
I bought these headers that were installed but never run, so they have already been dinged here and there for clearance. lol

For some reason, I do not have a good side view of the other side.

Re: Motor is IN!!!!!
Checked hood clearance at lunch today. It is looking like I just might squeeze this under the factory hood and scoop. The bottom of the factory scoop will be 2" above the bottom edge of the ruler.

Checking hood clearance with the air cleaner on. That is a 3" filter with a drop base and the lid just touches the bottom of the factory scoop. Might try to find a 2.5" tall filter just to be safe.
Sneaky.

Nice. Very sneaky.
Did they have a stock forward facing scoop too? I thought Ford did and they could be made to be fuctional and get some cool are in.

The '82 GT's had a forward scoop. Actually the back panel on this one is removable too.

lmao
They were free. And I had a set of 16" tires available.
The hot rod budget has been focused on getting this thing moving under it's own power. I will change the wheels later after the important stuff is done.
