swapping a 1988 10.25 sterling into my '95 truck- issues?
Will this rearend out of an 88 F250 w/460 bolt under my '95 F350 w/powerstroke? It looks like it will. Is it as strong as the '95 model year axle?
Thanks,
greg

Should be a bolt in deal. I believe the Sterling axles were used from 83 or so on up to present. The only difference being the SD's used a drive flange instead of a U-joint yoke on the pinion, and I believe maybe a variant of pinions somewhere. I put a 97 model year Sterling in a 79 F350 several years ago, and it was a bolt in deal too. I had to modify the rear driveshaft a little and use a combo U-joint.

should be a bolt in deal as schmitty said, as long as one of them isn't a dual rear wheel.

93 and up use a longer pinion. overall its only about 1/4 or 3/8" difference.

The 99 up are also a different bolt pattern went from 8x6.5 to 8x170. Also 99 up is 10.5 ring gear vs 10.25. Should be a direct bolt in with what you have

Completely forgot about Ford doing their own thing with the one off bolt pattern on the SD's.
