The neurosurgeon came in and said that he's certain it's a malignant tumor (GBM) that's pretty advanced. They are doing an MRI this afternoon and going to send him home for the hoildays with some steroids and anti-seizure meds. It doesn't look good at all for him. Thanks for your thoughts and prayers.

Keep thinking positive Dan. When my son was 24 months old he was diagnosed with a malignet brain tumor in the base of his skull near the brain stem. They did surgery and it was as big as a tennis ball. That is huge in a 2 year old. They said they were able to remove 90% of it. After surgery he had thirty days of radiation therapy. He is now a healthy 12 year old and the only side effects are a scar on the back of his neck and thin hair behind his ears. I don't tell many people about this but I thought it might give you'all some hope.

Dan, I'm very sorry to hear about your bro. That's a tough diagnosis but remember it's preliminary and if your bro is half as stubborn as you are he's got the battle half won right there.

As some more more words of encouragement during a tough time my brother in law lived another 23 years after they first diagnosed his. I hope your family will find some good luck themselves.

I got notified of your brother's illness this afternoon Dan. I said I wouldn't be back on here, but thought I'd let ya know, thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family from the Roope's. God Bless.

Thanks to all you guys for your kindness and prayers,it's been a tough day. This hits me pretty hard ,I've always looked out for him being his big brother.They sent him home until after the new year.We'll just have to wait and see what the future holds for him. I'm heading out tomorrow to spend the holidays with my mom in Florida. Kinda bittersweet, I'm gonna be ok, don't like the deal ,but I can't change Gods will.We all will meet our maker one day and there's no guarantee when that'll be. It's just tough when it hits close to you as many of us know, and the older we get ,the more we will see of this .
