Race Car Pics

Thought I would share some pics of the car I had before I built my '98 Mustang. It was a full square tube car with an iron headed 514 CJ motor, glide, 5.14 gears, Capri strut front, 4-link rear, it would hook in a mudhole. All steel except for the hood, lexan windows. It weighed 2825 with me in it and a half filled CJ block. The best ET was a 5.93. This car was my baby. I won my first race in it and the last 3 or four years I owned it, it paid its own way as far as entries, fuel, tires, and truck gas. I raced a lot in those days, 40-50 races a year. I even managed to lose first round at two different tracks in two different states on the very same day in this car.LOL A couple of buddies and I were watching some old racing videos and stirring up memories and thought I'd put this up.

X2, My first was a 69. I just wish it was that fast. Must have been a nice power plant to run that good and be that heavy. Both of your cars are sharp.

I like it also. I had big plans for the 69 Boss with the 70 front end that I had for sale. I really wish the economy would not have taken a dump. I really wanted to do a Pinks deal, car for car, the real thing, not this BS they have now. Cool car .

Dan, do you have the new setup in the bird yet? I haven't heard anything about it recently, or are you just tied up with Chuck's car?

I sold it to some guys from Canton, NC. I used to see them occasionaly but haven't heard anything from them in several years. I actually took a band new A-460 block and a set of FMS A heads all still in boxes as partial trade for the car. I sold it in '97 and the parts were brand new 1988 model parts. Those are what I have in my 98 mustang now.

The 69-70 Mustang is always going to be the "best" Mustang body style in my book. But some big pics of your current ride would also be cool too.....the small avatar thumbnail just doesn't do it justice.
