The Evil Farm Truck
Just picked up the truck last weekend. As soon as the Mustang chassis is gone it's coming into the garage and being transformed into the most demented creation to ever roam the farm. I already have 90% of the stuff to put it all together so this isn't going to take very long. I wasn't going to say a word about it until it was finished but I'm no grudge racer so I could care less.
Here's some of the set in stone specs:
1968 F100 2wd
Converted to 4x4 with 9" rear and Dana 44 front
Mickey Thompson drag radials front and rear
Twin turbo 528"
Glide
Divorced NP205 T-case
Ever seen a farm truck go 9's?......................

Here's the old engine when it was in the car. Most of it is new and sitting here ready to get used and abused.

I like your choice in trucks Very cool, make it a slick ride! I can't wait to see how it turns out.

Please don't paint it. Leave it just as it is. The 4wd with slicks on all 4 corners is going to be tricky ........... Going to be a handful if it decides to spin. Eve, what did the Mustang run with the twin turbo engine in it ?? Definatley has a cool factor about it.

It will look just like that, bench seat and all. The Mustang went 8.73 at 3400lb on 12psi. The new engine should make a lot more power since we picked up over 100cfm of head flow. Not to mention that I no longer have a stock block so I'm not afraid to turn the boost up. This engine was built for 7's in the car and to still be streetable.

Cool for sure and different. But a whole lot more manageable as a 2wd imo. Good luck though

It was going to be lifted on 35's but I decided that was a bad idea with 1500hp. I decided that P295/45R17 MT drag radials front and rear was a much safer idea. The 4x4 will help it hook up much better then a 2wd would ever hope for with that much weight and power. I'll also be runnng carbon fiber driveshafts so if I ever frag one at the top end of the track it won't wreak havoc under the truck and cause anything bad to happen. The second this Mustang is out of the garage I'll be getting started on this thing. It should have no problem being out for spring.

What would be cool is if you could put it in 4H for the 1/4 then put it in 4L for the 1/8 and have them both setup so you max out just at the finish line.

That won't work. The old Mustang with less power went 130mph in the 1/8th. This thing should be just as fast.

The 88's ship out Monday. Just need to locate one more wastegate and order BOV's. The hay will be flying in no time. The truck is moving into the garage in the next couple hours after I'm done cleaning up.

Leave the mirrors and step bumper on it but slam it about 3" off the ground. Should be a crowd pleaser.

Well the entire interior, front suspension, steering, and engine compartment are stripped. If I had another set of tall jack stands the rear axle would be out and stripped. I'll get some pics of the progress tomorrow after another day of working on it.

Well I didn't get a lot done today but I did get some stuff done. Now the inner fenders are out and the radiator is mocked up. I also made the templates for making the front sump on my oil pan deeper to clear the Titan oil pump. I've got the cage all planned out now and let me tell you, it's going to be sick. The brackets are also made for the custom rear traction bars. I would grab some pics but nothing impressive has happened yet but should in the next few weekends once parts start showing up.

Be sure to the steering all rebuilt and tight. I put a mild 460 in a 67 LWB like this once and the sloppy steering scared the hell out of me. LOL

I think the "loose" rear tires might be more of a problem!

Re: The Evil Farm Truck
Well I got some work done today and snapped a few pics in the process. I also snapped a few random ones showing the sweet patina this thing acquired over it's years on the farm. There has also been a change of plans concerning the drivetrain. It will now be 2wd and I'll be shortening the frame 16". It will have Caltrac bars and be on 315 MT drag radials. The bed and front end will be skinned and it will still not be painted at all and I will take special care in mounting everything so you have no idea from the outside that it's skinned.

Got that covered. The cage will be something you have never seen before and it's getting a really crappy faded white canvas tonneau cover. The camper thing has been done before and I have a better idea up my sleeve.

Very cool Eve!! I thought it was sad to see the Mustang project end but this is waaaay cooler!!!
Lettering thoughts:
PRO/Farm
PRO/Hick
Could have some fun with it!!
The hay idea is cool or an old rusty tool box/ammo box(s)/wood crate to cover stuff.
Sweet project!! Keep the pics coming.
