rocker arms

I am working with 69 heads and can only find roller rockers for them... can i use the stock stud in the heads with roller rockers???? and with roller rockers can i use my stock pushrods?

You will need to have the pedistals machined down the thickness of a guide plate and install guide plates if you want to run roller rockers inplace of the rail type ones. New studs are a good idea too.

No the factory pushrods in that engine will not work, they are not hardend for use with a guide plate.

what i was wondering. if you get the machine work done to use guid plates can you still use the stock Length push rods?

you'll need to measure them and it depend on the rockers.

If your going to do it upgrade to 3/8" pushrods while your at it.

X2 on the upgrade to 3/8 I didn't up grade to 3/8 and when i went to the solid lift cam it was harder to find the crome moly pushrods 5/16 in the size i needed the 3/8 would have been about $25 cheaper than the 5/16 that i bought.the guide plate 5 /16 or 3/8 cost the same .
