Re: MOTOR CITY MOTORS
I always hate those "un-reality" TV shows. It is absolutely impossible to do what those guys did in 5 days IMO. Granted Im far from good but I scrambled for 80 hrs in one week this past March to finish up my truck and it was basically done. I even had help from several friends (3 on one particular day).
Id believe a month working 8-10hr days.
Pretty neat car but in the end it really didnt seem all that fast compared to the original. The FRPP crate 521s arent anything to laugh at especially with a blower. The car couldnt weigh much over 2000lbs so 1000hp shouldve had that thing running like a raped ape.
again...just my opinions.

No, its just that the show is a major fail...................a bad spin off of monster garage.
Only way that show would have blew any worse is if they used a T bird instead of a model T.

Re: MOTOR CITY MOTORS
With that many qualified guys working on it ,I think it could done in 5 days. I built my Tbird in 3 months from a bare chassis. I had 3 weeks of solid body work on it too. 21 days of 18 hours days in a row. I couldn't do it again now ,I about killed myself doing it. These guys they're showing are bad ass fab guys. I think most of you who hate Jesse James and guys like this have never done much metal or body fab work? It takes a talented man to hand fab a fender or chop a top and make it look right. I've been doing this stuff all my life, my Dad was a bodyman starting back in the early 50's. He was a top notch bodyman and fabricator, so I feel lucky to have been raised up doing this stuff. I've got 2 brothers who never had any interest in it. I wish they would have, since Dad passed away I could use another mind and a pair of helping hands somedays!! I thank my Dad everyday I'm in my shop enjoying doing what he's taught me!! As far as the blown 521, give it to me and let me iron it out ,we could see how deep in the 8's it'd go??

I thought the show sucked, my opinion.
I think the early T-birds are ugly as phuck, also my opinion. And even if you didn't own one i'd still think they are ugly as phuck. And i could give a rats ass if you made it in a magazine with your blown up pile of shyt, or got on powerblock for 2 seconds.
If you were somebody you would be in the back of National Dragster holding up your Wally...............I cant seem to find you anywhere...............
Its cool they used a BBF in the show, too bad the show itself blew. I wont be watching the next episode.
As far as being green there is no way in hell I would trade my lifesyle for yours............

Re: MOTOR CITY MOTORS
Sounds like lots and lots of jeolousy by lots and lots of people in this thread. I did'nt watch the show but I do know that Jesse James is one talented guy and I wish I could fabricate things like that. And like Charlie said, I don't think Dan has to prove his accomplishments to anyone, and if someone has a car that is popular w/fans i'm happy for them.

Re: MOTOR CITY MOTORS
Wrong about being jealous, what does get old is the "look at me I'm in a magazine" shit all the time.
I never implied any bad towards the guys in the show, its just the show itself has been done and played out. I watched the whole thing and gave it a chance, just too much like monster garage............and monster garage was cooler.
Dan threw the first punch with the "your shit ain't in a magazine", he made this about him, not me. If not for his smartass comment then i would have never said a word. And Nick right there on his nuts with the "true dat".
Make smart ass comments your damn sure gonna get um back, and mine are not of the weak variety.............
I'm Glad Dan has a fan club, unfortunatly I'm not one of them, and for those who still think I am you are mistaken.
