Re: ??? Alabama, Tennessee and Georgia Members ???
this deal will go down as the worst outbreak ever, its got to surpass the '74 outbreak, which I;m sure it already has.
The inensity of the storms was unreal, forward motions were in the 50-70mph range, long track, the shear numbers etc.
Its an awesome display of mother nature, it would have been awesome to see in the open prarie of the TX and OK panhandles where there is little to no population to encounter. I went throught the May 3rd storm that hit Moore, and even though it did not hit my place of work is damn near killed us (small auto repair center) as life was disrupted for many months.
The damage in the videos looks similar to the damage of the F5 on may 3rd that had the highest clocked winds ever recorded in a tornado (318).................nothing above ground survives.

the storm that leveled Tuscaloosa,AL...Then hit Birmingham,AL...Rome GA... then to the Carolinas...said it should break the record for the longest one to stay on the ground...previous was 213 miles I believe...this one was to be over 300 miles...death toll still climbing,200+ last I heard. I sure do hope all the forum members that had to deal with these storms are okay! Our Tornado warnings was to expire at 5:15 am..that didn't happen till 8:30am.

I know they did but there are some discussions on the storm chase forums as to if it really is or not, I think as time goes by and the whole picture comes in to play it will eclipse it.

I was bumming out cause my farmland is under water. Then you see something like this, sometimes you just need a new way to look at things. Prayers going out for those of you down south affected by these storms.

Hopefully, the south will get the help and money to rebuild and get their lives somewhat pieced back together. Forget about the other countries and the Royal Wedding and focus on helping our own for a change.

Tornado missed us by a mile. 5 miles away destroyed 9 houses in a row. Killed a 14 year old boy. Blew the roof off one of my employees house and destroyed her daughters house. I was lucky, we had no damage.
Im in southern TN

Tornadoes in Ga.
The tornado destroyed a small comunity above me and one below me .Barnesville Ga had two dead and much damage .Above me little sunnyside is basically gone .No deaths there .I live between the two and all is good in Griffin Ga .Such is the nature of tornados .My prayers for those with damage to homes and lives .Doug
