TNT Last Night (Video)
Mike and I had a pretty good night at the track. Track condition was marginal on the line but much better down track than it has been. We did get in 3 good straight passes and one throw away after I got greedy with the timing and blew the tires off. The Racepak Sportsman data logger was definitely a big help in diagnosing on what was going down. We just need to get to a good track for some testing and go from there. Mikey, I think maybe I see a Silverdollar in our future

Looked like some good passes. What's with the smoke at the end of the runs?

Thanks! Not sure what that was. I didn't notice it myself until I replayed the videos on my camera after the last run, but it's definitely something I will be looking into.
Re: TNT Last Night (Video)
I just found a photo was taken yesterday at the track by the track photographer and posted on SRD's homepage. Whenever he post them up on his web page I'll have to order a few copies. That's my nephew Damon, (my body guard ) looking over my shoulder while I was programing the MSD. Looks like I need a new Trick Flow hat

Re: TNT Last Night (Video)
Car looks & sounds damn nice guys. That semi flat black paint is killer.
Looking at the video frame by frame it has a decent amount of initial suspension separation/leverage driving the rim downward & planting/wadding-up the sidewall. It does look to have some amount of initial tire rotation before the actual hook, but it's hard to say exactly how much without a stripe on the sidewall.
It kinda looks like maybe the rear shock extension valving is set towards the looser end of the adjustment range, or the I/C placement is in the more aggressive range. But the effect might also be from maybe needing some more air pressure.
Keep after it guys.

Tire rub from growth?ThndrChkn wrote:Looked like some good passes. What's with the smoke at the end of the runs?
Re: TNT Last Night (Video)
I've been out in the shop this morning to start cleaning up the car for a car show at work that Mikey asked me about putting it in. Well, it turned out to be tire smoke, but not from growth. After watching the videos a million times and this morning when I took the wheels and tires off to clean them up, I noticed where the tire had rubbed in the wheel tub. Right where you see the smoke is where the track transitions from concrete to asphalt and there's a slight dip in the track. The car was squatting down in the dip and the tires rubbed. Fixed

Thanks Nick! The tires are 29.5 x 10.5W. I've been working real hard to get it down the track straight and it's starting to pay off. We just need a really good track to test on so we can start cranking some power back in it.
