The A351 was the "sportsman" block. 2-bolt mains. They had several casting runs on this block. Early on they were a heavier duty casting worthy of the SVO name. In the middle Ford swapped over to a lighter casting not much different than a stock 351WE block. Then late in the production they went back to the heavier blocks. You can usually tell by looking at the main saddles. The heavy duty blocks had smooth, thick machined saddles. The lighter blocks had the sculpted, hollowed out main saddles and weren't appreciably stronger than the factory blocks.

I believe the 6010-A351 Was the Sportsman block he said it was a 6015-A351 and said it was a 4 bolt main block.

Sorry about that. I assumed the 6015 was a typo. I have every Motorsport book back through 1994 here (except for 98, 99 and 01) and all blocks are 6010 numbers and the only A351 block is the 2 bolt Sportsman block (shows up in the 1997 catalog). I have seen people convert the heavy A351 block to 4 bolts though.

M-6010-A351 9.500 deck ht. , .060" over bore capability. Cleveland main size , 4 bolt main . this is for mid 1980's blocks . forgot , thought all Ford blocks basic number is 6010
