Don't they typicaly use a 200r4? I've heard the 200's are considered better than the 700's? Plus turbo stuff is a little different than a N/A big inch motor.

i know that they say a 700 can take must power but in the club im in they are doing it quite well. dont get me wrong im not a gm lover but i do like all fast cars and if there chevy well that ok to. and i do have a 700r4 behind a 472 bbf and is doing find. i have taken the 700 apart and this is what i found the pump is trashed something got in there and eat it up.. 3-4 clutch is smoked which is the norm on a 700 reverse imput clutch is gone and the low reverse clutch. during the inspection i had the converter cut open can believe the all the trash in there it looks like a bad weld job on the convertor there is welding spatter every were. im thinking that the converter put metal thru the pump and took it out and with a lost of pressure the clutches too. having the converter restalled to 3500 it was a billet 4500 lockup the clutch in that thing is huge also remachine the pump halves will try to get some pic on the puter
