Stators going bad Empty Stators going bad

Post  514Fox87 June 12th 2011, 8:41 am

Went to start the car the other night before heading to the track and it wouldn't start. Checked the MSD and had fire from the coil wire. Changed dist. and car fired off. This is the third stator that has gone bad. Two on the duraspark dist. and one MSD. What could be causing this or is this just something that can happen from time to time?

The kid here with the Chevy pu had a similar issue, after thew 3rd pickup in the dizzy it finally died for goood..was the MSD 6AL box bad.

Another thing to consider is proper grounding of everything, its funny how a dirty ground somewhere will let electricity find another path and damage certain items........ Idea
