On the horns of a dilema ....
My question is this ... Would I be better off running the 1977 460 with dished pistons and stock deck clearance ( I measured it but don't remember ) and dove-c heads or the 429 with flat top trw pistons with one valve relief, .080 in the hole and the dove-c heads. The cam will be a Comp 292h that I picked up "dirt cheap". Going into my pullin' truck, NO STREET USE, can use any race gas, and is just a TEMPORARY engine so I can make it to a couple of the local pulls and stay in the game till I get my "real engine" built.

Thanks guys. I was thinking the same thing. Even with the big dish in the 460 pistons the compression would probably come out close plus the 30 more cubes and tighter quench. Now I still need a std. bore block. I found 3 near me. $150 each.
