got a newer truck today

got a 2004 reg cab today, just to slick of a truck to pass up..5.4 motor..auto tranny...

It looks like a pretty clean truck and should run pretty good with the 5.4 in it.

that was the first truck i ever drove with a 5.4...i was impressed with the hp and tq and moving like it did for a truck...its rated at 300hp ..365tq

its fun..it has a stall mate..my 1997 4x4 and my 92 notch back car...now i just have to get this dodge caravan out of my yard

I bet it's probably a high 15 second truck in the 1/4 mile.I say this because i had a 2007 F-150 Supercab 4X4,5.4 3V,4 Speed auto and 3.55 gears ran a 16.65 at 83 mph in the 1/4 mile.I now have a 2010 F-150 Supercab 4X4,4.6 3V,6 Speed auto and 3.73 gears and to my suprise it ran a 16.25 at 84.89 mph.Any how nice looking truck and enjoy it,Later Mark.

For the last 2 years I have been looking at 2005-2008 models with the shortbed, reg. cab, 2wd to make a hot rod pickup.
I wasn't aware until now that the 5.4 came in the 2wd, reg. cab, SWB trucks.

u could add gears..some headers and good mufflers..a chip and tune..injectors..pullies..cold air intake..and run decent for stock..not sure how much similarities the normal 5.4 is compared to the lighting 5.4

Whats the gas mileage on it? My brother has one of the Harley editions and it gets 12-13. I'm on the lookout for a truck and trying to keep up with what mileage different ones get.

i reset the od and the gauge was below the red..put 22 gallons in it..with the wive driving it all week , she drives 5-10 over the limit ..(i drive like im driving miss Daisey)..and the ac on every mile it got 420 miles on it before she stop and got gas, not sure how far it will really go before it runs out .but i will find out..so 420/22= 19 mpg
